Drug Testing...is it really all it's cracked up to be? Personally, It's a mixed
bag. One one hand it does help some people abstain from drugs. On the other
hand, most people who do drugs work . Consequently,
either the testing is flawed or they are really good at masking the effects
of the test. In addition, I think drug testing actually drives some people
to switch from marijuana (3 weeks in your system) to dangerous and highly
addictive drugs like cocaine and heroin which will flush out of your system
in a few days. In addition, young people have turned to GHB which is not
only cheaper than getting drunk it will not give you a hangover and is
impossible to drug test. So for ever action we take there is a reaction
that is taken by those who are determined to get trashed.
Consequently my read on the situation would be to have drug testing where odd
behavioral activity dictates and when accidents occur.
For students though, I'd recommend it highly. Kids need guidance in order to
avoid the drug laden minefields of youth. This would help (drug testing) steer
them clear of the minefields.
