The Liverpool Elks Club is the first lodge in the nation to provide an emergency defibrillator and CPR training to its members.

At a ceremony Thursday evening, the lodge introduced their brand new Welch Allyn defibrillator.

The Elks held fundraisers for the device, but they say it would not have been possible without the help of officials at Welch Allyn.

"I also am very excited, you guys are such a forward-thinking organization. Coming here on a Saturday to learn about CPR is a great thing,” said David Allyn of Welch Allyn, Inc.

Welch Allyn says the device greatly increases the chances of survival if someone goes into cardiac arrest.
